Mommy's little helper

Zion loves helping mommy do the laundry, especially the load/unload from the dryer part. Anytime I start doing laundry she'll come running, "help you, help you!" And as always when the basket is full she climbs right in. What a fun game. I love how kids are so easily entertained, and they love doing chores at such a young age. Zion absolutley loves putting dishes in the sink, sweeping, and throwing away dirty diapers, and even cleaning up her own messes. What a trooper. All I can do now is hope it lasts!

p.s. don't ya love the 'fro. It is my fave. I had braided it a few days before, and had taken them out earlier in the day, this is the end result.

JFK Memorial

After our visit to the aquarium we took a little walk to the memorial sight where President JFK was shot. For those of you who haven't been here or seen it, the "X" in the road is were one of the shots was fired.

The Dallas World Aquarium

For Easter we decided to do something fun, and memorable. So we took the kids to the Dallas World Aquarium. On our way up to the exhibit we decided to get on an elevator instead of taking the stairs. The doors opened, we stepped inside with about 8 other people, kids included, and the doors closed behind us. We hadn't even gone up a foot when the elevator stopped. Yes, it completely stopped. We had to use the elevator phone to call someone to the rescue. We were stuck inside the claustrophobic elevator with ornery kids, for about 20 minutes, while maintenance frantically tried to get us out. Finally the doors opened and we stepped down from the elevators captivity. After getting a full refund, along with the friendly people we got acquainted with while held hostage by the elevator, we were happily on our way, up the stairs this time 'round. Zion loved every minute of it till the end, as you may notice in the last picture, and even lil' Ez enjoyed the scenery. Eric and I had fun too. Honestly, it was better than the zoo, maybe for the simple fact that it is inside and I didn't have to wear sunscreen, but we had a blast!

Easter egg hunt

Steph and the kids came over so we could have a little Easter egg hunt.

Breckyn and Ez chilled out while big bro and sis played in the sand box.
And they're off....

Ez and Bryn watch from the sidelines. We had a lot of fun, it was actually a nice day apart from the wind. We had lunch and let the kids play. It was nice. I love visiting with my sis. And our kids always have so much fun.

Lotion

Exhibit A: Hair slicked to side of head with lotion, and hand in containerExhibit B: Zion showing off her shiney, overly oily hair Exhibit C: Notice hands and shirt sleeves soaked in oil, pay no attention to the black dots on arm, that's only paint from the freshly painted stair rail outside.
So for all of you who may not know, Zion's hair is not like mine, but it's not quite like her daddy's either. It is a little of both, very curly, and dry, but fine. So in order to do anything to it, to make it look decent, I have to use special oils and/or lotions for her hair. So earlier today I did Zion's hair, and I always put everything away after I use it to prevent any messes. But unfortunately, today, I thought- 'eh, it'll be ok, I'll put it away later. And I went on about my day, doing laundry, dishes, etc. In the meantime Zion took a nap, and then after lunch I turned on some Hanna Montana for her to watch while I fed Ez. So of course as I'm feeding him, I'm thinking she is being a good little girl, but to my surprise, in the silence of the moment I went to check on her. "Look mommy lotion", she says as she wipes a handful of lotion in her hair and onto her face. I think she had used almost half of the container on her hair, can you believe it? What a silly goose.
