Birthday Boy!
PuMpKiNs
I'm officially slacking in the blogging department. Living in Utah again is keeping me pretty busy. But life is good I can't complain. A couple weeks back Nate and his lovely little family invited me and the kids to go get pumpkins. We drove all the way to Centerville to get our pumpkins, only because Nate new some guy who had a ton of really good pumpkins, and at 30% off, we really couldn't pass it up. Sad to say I actually didn't take good pictures, I think Lori's blog had some shots of the actual pumpkins we purchased.

Cookies & Milk
This is probably the most I've laughed in a while. Zion, my little princess face, has quite the personality, which most of you may know. Well a couple Sunday's ago she had refused to eat her dinner all evening. It took her about 2 hours to finally finish the last bite. We told her if she ate all her food she could have cookies and milk. Now for those of you who know my mom, she can pretty much sing a song about anything. And since Zion finished all her food, my mom just started singing a little jingle that you'll hear in the video, and Zion's lovely dance moves were also taught by my mom. Enjoy!

MeMoRiEs
I've seen this on a couple people's blogs and couldn't resist putting it on my own :)
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
Can't wait to see what memories you have of me!

Happy Birthday/Father's day
Eric and I decided that we'd give each other a joint present for my birthday and father's day. And we decided on a flat screen TV . You see, the TV we had was, I think, a good 10-15 years old, or possibly more. And I don't want to have to buy one of those converter boxes in 2009 when we all have to have certain TVs. Anyway, here it is, I promised the fam I'd put a picture on my blog.
And also I wanted to tell Eric thank you so much, and Happy Father's day. Babe, thanks for everything you do, for being so patient with me, and working so hard all the time. And being the best dad to our kids. You always seem to fill in where I can't, and I really appreciate it. You're my rock, and the foundation of our little family, thanks for keeping us together. I love you honey, Happy Father's Day from the kids and I.

Father's Day Tribute!
Now, I know you're all thinking that you have the best dad ever, but I'm sorry to say that No One has a better dad than I do. Seriously, some may come close but none are better- well, to me anyway! Now as we all know, tomorrow is June 15th, Father's Day, but you see, June 15th is also my birthday. Yes, it's true! Every, I don't know how many years-dad, I'm sure you'd know- Father's Day falls on my birthday. I always thought that I was so special, having my dad open presents on the same day as me, just the two of us. And this year will be the first that we won't be together to celebrate. So, dad here's some good memories....
For laughs- I remember, when you used to have hair, Steph and I used to comb/brush your hair, and put bows and clips in it, funny enough, I think mom took a picture of it once.
Dad, you always were the one we'd, I'd, go to if I knew mom would say "NO", but you usually would say, "go ask your mother".
I think I have only 2 memories of you getting mad at me, one was when I broke the chair, I was sitting on it wrong, and you told me not to lean back on it, and sure enough I broke it. And man, when I fell, I just remember running to my room before you could catch me! The other time I believe was during Junior High, I told you and mom that I had, I think, a 3-4 page report due in the morning-yes, I'm a great procrastinator. And we all stayed up all stayed up late, late, late, till it was finished.
And then my favorites was, is, when you would sing my song, the primary song-" if you chance to meet a frown" Just the first word, "If..." would force a smile on my face.
Dad, thanks for always being there for me, to make me laugh, and put me in my place. Thank you for being my dad, so patient and understanding. I love you dad, happy father's day!

Twilight

First of all a big shout out to my lil' sis Kelsie! Thanks so much Kels for intorducing me to this book. I had no idea that I would love it as much as you said I would. I mean come on, a girl who falls in love with a vampire and a werewolf, it really doesn't sound like my type of book, kinda silly really. I never have been much of a reader till lately, I guess you could say I'm a convert to the reading society. But within the first few pages of the first book I was hooked. I fell in love with Bella, and then Edward, and the Cullens, and then eventually even Jacob. I'm proud to say I've finished all three books in about a little over a months time. And I can't wait for the fourth one. And of course the movie, hello! If you haven't seen the teaser trailer, oh my goodness, it looks so good. They did a good job casting the characters, they all look how I had pictured them. Make sure you check it out. And if you haven't read the books you are missing out! Thanks again Kelsie. I can't wait to read them again!

little swimmer
Eric and I, well mostly Eric, started swimming laps at the college pool. And yes, I bought myself a swim cap, don't laugh, it really helps quite a bit, and the goggles too. And Zion loves to play dress up, and I was curious.....lol, I'm not a mean mom, but I had to see what she looked like....and of course I took some pictures to share with all of you.

what a beautiful day
this picture is so funny to me, they both have that, 'what did you say', look on their faces.
again, the two of them mirroring each other.
aww...such a Kodak moment...
Sunday, Mother's Day, was such a beautiful day, we went outside to take some pictures, and soak up the sun, and cool air while we can. Zion wouldn't sit still long enough for me to take the pictures, but I think we got some good shots. While Ezekiel was content to just sit on the grass and soak up the sun.

Good Morning!

I know you're probably thinking, "Is it Halloween?", Or maybe you're thinking, "What is that poor girl covered in?" Well either way, or whatever else you may be thinking, here is the story behind the mess. I wake up this morning with Zion lying next to me, which has become a regular occurance at our home. Now for those who know me well, I'm not a morning person, what so ever! I like silence, and usually try to keep my eyes closed as long as possible. So as I lie in bed, trying to soak up as much serenity as I can, before I start my day, I hear Eric from the bathroom saying, "did you see what our daughter did?" I reluctantly opened my weary eyes to behold Zion covered with black smudges. I crawl out of bed to go to her for a better look. As I reach her I ask, "what is ....", before I can finish my question Zion says while batting her eyes at me, "eyes mommy, look! That answered it for me. You see, when ever I put my mascara on myself Zion calls it 'eyes'. And I'll admit every now and then I'll put just a little bit on her just for fun. I don't know how she got it, but kids always seem to find a way. In shock, I look around my bedroom for the culprit, as I scan my bed I see that little miss Zion wasn't just lying next to me this morning, oh no on the contrary. She also left me a masterpiece on my bed sheets right next to my pillow. What a sweet heart. I think she got a little carried away with the 'eyes'!
Oh, my sweet boy, I tried to get a shot or two of his teeth. The first picture is pretty good, then the last one I got a nice drool shot for ya'll. For teething he's actually doing pretty good, he's a tooper. I love this age, so happy, and smily all the time, then after a couple years they start talking back, and tell you "no!" to almost everything, and throw temper tantrums, and draw on your walls, and put mascara on your bed......oh I'm sorry, I seem to have gotten a little carried away! I love you Zion, and Ezekiel, I'm blessed to have such wonderful, happy, loving kids, who love me no matter what.

A NEW EARTH
Awakening to Your Life's Purpose....
Can I just say wow! I finally finished what was probably the best book I've ever read. Insiring, uplifting, enlightening, mind opening. Yes it took me nearly 5-6 weeks to read it front to back, but it's an intense read. I highly recommend it to any and everyone. And if you have read it please share your thoughts with me I'd love to hear how it's awakened you.

TWO Precious

Zion Zi"on\, n. [Heb. ts[=i]y?n, originally, a hill.]
1. (Jewish Antiq.) A hill in Jerusalem, which, after the capture of that city by the Israelites, became the royal residence of David and his successors.
2. Hence, the theocracy, or church of God.
3. The heavenly Jerusalem; heaven.
Zion is 2 years old. Some of her favorite things are:
- giving and receiving hugs and kisses
- tv show- Hanna Montana, and Sponge bob square pants
- food- chicken, I have to force her to eat anything else these days.
- things to say- mmm...alicious (delicious), ew agussing (disgusting), mommy-daddy-baby-bottle, shh Ez no crying, no change a diaper mommy!, and my favorite when she sings 'Umbrella', yes she also loves to sing. She'll find anything that she can use as a 'micaphone' (microphone), and she'll sing- ella, ella, comethia bela, eh eh eh.....
It's the best ever. Zion loves learning new words, helping mommy & daddy cook, coloring and reading, cleaning, and being a big sister to her little brother. She is growing and learning everyday. I can't believe she used to be just a baby, now some days I look at her and think, wow, she's not a little baby anymore. She's such a big girl. She teaches me things, and shows me a better side of life. And I love how every morning she comes into our room to say good morning. Always so happy and ready to start a new day. She is our peacemaker, always makes sure Ez is ok, and she's always there to wipe a tear, or to tell daddy to give mommy a kiss before he leaves for work, and vice versa.
Ezekiel–noun
1. a Major Prophet of the 6th century b.c.
2.a book of the Bible bearing his name. Abbreviation: Ezek.
3.Moses Jacob, 1844–1917, U.S. sculptor, in Rome.
4.a male given name: from a Hebrew word meaning “God strengthens.”
And then how can I forget our little man, Ezekiel. He is now 6 months old and getting two bottom teeth in that beautiful smile of his. First of all I need to say what a sweet baby he has been. Not that Zion wasn't, but ever since he found his thumb 5 months ago he's been an angel. Sleeping all night long, sometimes 13 hours. And every morning, or after he wakes from a nap he'll sometimes just lay there in his bed and just be content. He'll stare up at the fish hanging above him, or look at all the fun trucks, and colors on the bumper on the inside of the crib. And he won't make a fuss. But I'll here a little coo and go check on him and instantly he smiles and starts kicking his little legs so jovially. And my heart is filled with joy. He loves laughing at his silly big sister, listening to music, playing with his toys, and taking a bath. Ez has such a loving personality, easy going and easy to please. He also teaches me not to take things so seriously, just to relax and be Ez. How fortunate, and thankful I am to be so blessed to have such happy, healthy children.

Train Ride
Ez & Zion patiently waited for the train. And had a good time on board.
About 2 blocks from the station is this water garden, it's like a park.

This place below was pretty nice. You walk down the stairs to behold a shallow pool surrounded by trees, and a tall cement wall with a constant, slow flow of water running from the top.

After a nice walk through the water garden we walked through town a little, got a bite to eat, then boarded the train back to Irving.

Mommy's little helper

Zion loves helping mommy do the laundry, especially the load/unload from the dryer part. Anytime I start doing laundry she'll come running, "help you, help you!" And as always when the basket is full she climbs right in. What a fun game. I love how kids are so easily entertained, and they love doing chores at such
a young age. Zion absolutley loves putting dishes in the sink, sweeping, and throwing away dirty diapers, and even cleaning up her own messes. What a trooper. All I can do now is hope it lasts!p.s. don't ya love the 'fro. It is my fave. I had braided it a few days before, and had taken them out earlier in the day, this is the end result.

JFK Memorial
The Dallas World Aquarium

For Easter we decided to do something fun, and memorable. So we took the kids to the Dallas World Aquarium. On our way up to the exhibit we decided to get on an elevator instead of taking the stairs. The doors opened, we stepped inside with about 8 other people, kids included, and the doors closed behind us. We hadn't even gone up a foot when the elevator stopped. Yes, it completely stopped. We had to use the elevator phone to call someone to the rescue. We were stuck inside the claustrophobic elevator with ornery kids, for about 20 minutes, while maintenance frantically tried to get us out. Finally the doors opened and we stepped down from the elevators captivity. After getting a full refund, along with the friendly people we got acquainted with while held hostage by the elevator, we were happily on our way, up the stairs this time 'round. Zion loved every minute of it till the end, as you may notice in the last picture, and even lil' Ez enjoyed the scenery. Eric and I had fun too. Honestly, it was better than the zoo, maybe for the simple fact that it is inside and I didn't have to wear sunscreen, but we had a blast!

Easter egg hunt
Steph and the kids came over so we could have a little Easter egg hunt.
Breckyn and Ez chilled out while big bro and sis played in the sand box.
And they're off....

Ez and Bryn watch from the sidelines.
We had a lot of fun, it was actually a nice day apart from the wind. We had lunch and let the kids play. It was nice. I love visiting with my sis. And our kids always have so much fun.Saturday, March 15, 2008
Lotion
Exhibit A: Hair slicked to side of head with lotion, and hand in container
Exhibit B: Zion showing off her shiney, overly oily hair
Exhibit C: Notice hands and shirt sleeves soaked in oil, pay no attention to the black dots on arm, that's only paint from the freshly painted stair rail outside.
So for all of you who may not know, Zion's hair is not like mine, but it's not quite like her daddy's either. It is a little of both, very curly, and dry, but fine. So in order to do anything to it, to make it look decent, I have to use special oils and/or lotions for her hair. So earlier today I did Zion's hair, and I always put everything away after I use it to prevent any messes. But unfortunately, today, I thought- 'eh, it'll be ok, I'll put it away later. And I went on about my day, doing laundry, dishes, etc. In the meantime Zion took a nap, and then after lunch I turned on some Hanna Montana for her to watch while I fed Ez. So of course as I'm feeding him, I'm thinking she is being a good little girl, but to my surprise, in the silence of the moment I went to check on her. "Look mommy lotion", she says as she wipes a handful of lotion in her hair and onto her face. I think she had used almost half of the container on her hair, can you believe it? What a silly goose.

For Fajah
I talked to my parents last night, and I promised my dad I'd take more pictures and update my blog. So to keep my promise, here you go daddy'o. Ezekiel is almost 5 months now, he weighs 14lb, and is 24 in. long. He can roll over, coo, smile, and eat mush. I am sad to say I am no longer nursing. It was just too hard to pump at work, but he did get a good 4 months of breast milk, unlike Zion who got 8, but oh well. Speaking of Zion, she is now repeating everything she hears, literally. She's even singing songs. Oh, and finally after 2 years, her hair can fit in a ponytail, miracle! I know a lot of you will find it hard to believe, but I have a hard time dealing with her hair. After I wash it and comb it out (which is always a hassle) it's perfect. But then she wakes up and...what a mess. So trust me when I say that the ponytail achievement is a miracle.

American Idol
So, Tuesday night I was watching, of course, American Idol. Some of the performers auditioned with instruments. Honestly I think it was a bad idea, some were good, like the girl that played the keyboard with the long curly blonde hair. But there one performance that I couldn't get out of my head. A young man sang and played this song on the keyboard. I loved the song so much I replayed his performance over and over again, and then ended up having it in my head all day at work. I just couldn't get it out of my head. So I came home and finally found it. The artist is Mika, and the song is called Grace Kelly. Maybe some of you know it, I hadn't heard it till that night, and I love it. I'd put it on here so you all could hear, but I don't have time right now. But check it out. Lemme know what you think.

"She-le-le"
Zion, oh Zion. She talks and sings, and repeats everything she hears. She's a non-stop chatter box. And I'm loving every minute of it. These are a few of my favorites:
- "I Yien" - translation - "I'm Zion"
- "She-le-le"- translation - "Cereal"
- "shome" - translation - "Phone"
Yeah, those are the one's that I can't quite figure out how she got them. I've tried helping her sound them out. For example, cereal. I'll break it down like so, asking her to repeat after me, "Si", "re", "al". And she'll say each syllable exactly how I did, then I'll ask her to repeat "cereal", and she says, "she-le-le"! Same goes for 'phone' and 'Zion'. She can say her Z's, and F's just not when it comes to those words. Go figure? Oh and she sings "Happy birthday to you", but it sounds like, "Eh, birday to you, eh bir-day to-you...". But we try to discourage her from that song, she thinks if she sings it a cake will magically apear.

Look mommy butter
So while I was cutting Steph's hair... our 2 little, so called, angels had some fun at Aunt Haley's. One word, Butter. Yes, these 2 little darlings, got into the fridge, opened the box, unwrapped 3 cubes of butter, and rubbed them all over my sofa! They're little faces, and hands were all greased up with butter, as was my couch. Thank goodness they're mirco-suede. With the wipe of a cloth all was well. The first picture, I took first, they were showing off, the second picture, reality set in. Kids, you never know what they'll do
next.
Breckyn's first haircut!
Steph came over with Locke and Breckyn. I cut Steph's hair. Then I had the wonderful opportunity to give lil' Breckyn her first haircut. Can you believe how long her hair is!
Before...
After...

Friday, February 1, 2008
I got my hair cut!
before, natural hair color, and always in a ponytail.
After (sorry a little blurry), short, and dark. I risked getting my haircut by someone besides my talented mother. But I had to, I was desperate. I went to 'Regis'. I think they did a pretty good job, it's no 'Hair Max' hair cut, but it'll do.
My little man.
I absolutely LOVE this picture!

Happy Birthday Zion!
Zion turned 2 years old on January 5th 2008! She opened her presents that morning, but didn't care about any of them after she opened the last one, which was a Hanna Montana doll, that actually sings the theme song.

Zion showing off her new doll, with backstage pass and poster included.
Sho sho (Zion's grandma) brought over a cake later.

Yummy, yummy, cake! Ever since she ate her cake she says, "birthday..., cake..., mmmhmm."
She slept with her doll for the first couple of days. And we finally had to put it away for a little while, the song got old real fast.

My lil' thumb sucker.
Oh, how Zion loves her brother, and as you can see, the feeling is mutual!
He can't keep it outta his face. Lil' Ez loves to suck his thumb. It's kinda nice though, I don't have to worry about a pacifier. Isn't he sweet.
Christmas 2007
Zion could actually open her presents on her own this year. In fact she wouldn't even let mommy or daddy help. She got new toys, a new princess comforter for her bed, new clothes, and Hanna Montana accessories, of course.

My Boob Job.
Growning, growing, growing

Lil' Ez, isn't he cute! He's almost 2 months now, and he's growing like a weed, I think he's going to be real tall. The other night he slept 9 hours! Thank you Ez. I could use the extra sleep since I got my "boob job". Yes, it's true! But it's not what you think. I make boobs. Yup! I'm back at work, but this time I make boobs, not hair. It's fun actually, and it's got its props too. First and most important, I go to work when Eric gets home. This way we don't need daycare. And Eric gets quality time with the kids. And since I'm still nursing I pump at work so Eric can feed Ez while I'm at work. Lovely isn't it. Oh and if I ever want a
real "boob job", I get a nice discount.

Ez's new swing
Ezekiel loves his new swing that Nana bought him.
It plays music and rocks him to sleep. And of course Zion loves pushing him in it.
She sat in it today while he wasn't in it and it almost broke, luckily it didn't.
Mom came to visit!
Mom came to visit over the weekend!!! We had a blast! I had missed her so much. But we had fun. She got to see her new lil' grandson EZ and spend some quality time with Zion as well. The last day we went to a park and took pictures.

Zion, Nana, and Ezekiel asleep on the side.
We met up with Steph and her lil' ones, Locke and Breckyn, on Monday and went shopping. Mom wanted the "Texas Grand kids" pictures taken. So we went to Kiddie Kandids. Oh my gosh! Trying to get 4 kids under 3 yrs. old to sit still for a picture isn't easy. That was a very exhausting, interesting day.Monday, October 15, 2007
Lap time

I call this Lap time, Lunch and nap.
A day in the life...
Like last night for example. Ezekiel was awake, let's just say, most of the night. And Zion decided to wake up around 1 am and again at 6 am. So this morning I was overly tired and ornery from lack of sleep. I went to get Ezekiel to change his diaper. And Zion followed after me, then climbed up to peek at what mommy was doing. Then she said, with a look of disgust, "Ewwww.......dirty!" as I continued to change his messy diaper she repeated again and again, each time growing with more intensity and enthusiasm than the first. "Eeeewwww.....Dirty!" As if it was going to reach out and grab her. I couldn't help but laugh and right there and then my thoughts of ME were vanished.
It's the little things that they do that make me realize how blessed I am.

For my 23rd Birthday Eric took me out for a night on the town. We had a blast!
